Marvel Marvelman purchase rights (Miracleman)

Inside the Comic-Con International San Diego, the master of the House of Ideas, Joe Quesada, Marvel Comics announced it has bought the rights to the character of British origin Marvelman, which for several years was in limbo due to legal problems between those who claimed to have the publishing rights to the character (the problem is old and it has been mixed up names like Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane).

Marvelman owes its fame largely to Alan Moore, who in the early 80's gave the character the treatment "darker" in those days was a novelty (and eventually give way to birth rate graphic novels Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns). At the time, the publication in America Marvelman stories saw the name change of the Miracleman character, because the same Marvel Comics opposed to using the original name.
More than 20 years ago Marvel Marvelman's rights, which were purchased the creator of the character Mick Anglo.
I think is excellent news that we can see the character back stories, more so on the understanding that are already handling some creative team names for the new stories, names with a heavy historical character (No. Alan Moore has not been mentioned yet ....). The news will be fantastic if:
a) The editorial circumvents any legal problem to reprint previously published material (from Histri classic stage through to Moore and Neil Gaiman) and
b) The editorial exploit the license in a dignified manner, with creative teams to help to magnify the character's mythology. Otherwise, there will soon be served to Marvelman has managed to escape from legal limbo.

primarily Originality: Haunt

Comic-Con International San Diego is the ideal platform to launch comic book projects. In the 2007 Todd McFarlane announced a new project he was involved with Robert Kirkman (Invincible), from the time they were handled a number of preventive images the appearance of "Haunt."

Last week the topic turned to take hold because, after two years of preparation, in the 2009 edition of that convention was presented a 20-page comic in the more known aspects of the character.

McFarlane is an emblem of the comics of the 90's, and most often remembered for the creation of Spawn and some less for the Venom (Marvel Comics) Mr. right or wrong had its moment and acknowledge his great popularity among a generation of comiqueros, but not finished yet to establish for certain where he lives so popular, beyond the fact that he created Spawn. Well, what happened happened. Obviously

McFarlane already has his plan laid out, giving medium to talk about time raising some controversy for his character becomes popular, sold several thousand copies of the first three or four numbers and then wait for readers to get bored of the character, for the time Spider-Spawn this is forgotten, Mr. McFarlane and have increased his already vast fortune. Uses. Something has to be lived and not everyone can throw to propose new concepts that persist in the environment by truly original proposals. I always thought why there are more traders artists.
