Kunel Mike writes and illustrates "Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam" a new title DC although originally announced under the label would Jhonny DC, aimed at young readers online , not, being simply a draft author who does not follow the central character's continuity, but nevertheless, both visually and arguably it was obviously intended to reach young people.
This first issue introduces readers to the origin of Captain Marvel and raises the kind of lives they lead Billy Batson and his sister Mary, orphans who have to fend for themselves in a double life while doing good with the powers granted by the wise Shazam. In sum equation Theo Adam, a teenager at the time were granted the powers of Shazam, but who apparently did not properly used, Theo has forgotten the magic word that triggered his powers, so look for ways to get it out to young Billy.
Since I heard about the project wanted to read this comic, although he knew the work of Kunel nor am I a fan of Captain Marvel, at first glance the project will attract those who like caricature style, as in my case I'm always looking for projects with style "toon."
In my opinion the art is great, I think the children who come to read are able to identify with the characters, as well as being attracted by the management of positions and expressions that good Kunel driving.
However, I personally feel that there are two points that could be an obstacle for young children to enjoy this work: the first is the text, which although they have a very simple story to the standard "main stream", I do not have consciously chosen to be enjoyed by this market: much bla bla and such basic words.
The second is the resource that I feel abused Kunel to give the impression of dynamism, simply check the four images that precede these lines: with the exception of the second in which Mary and Billy come his department, the other three are aimed to represent only change position and not change + changing position in space seating plans, I think this may confuse children. However
... is a personal opinion, and children the least they care about is the theory.
thing to do is go to the comic book store, take a couple of copies, to enjoy the work and give to some little kid (if you do not know English, because they read it) to give you the opportunity to meet Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam.
